Padma Vibhushan for Shri Dhirubhai Ambani

Mr Anil Ambani's statement on Shri Dhirubhai Ambani being conferred with the Padma Vibhushan Posthumously

"I personally, and the entire Reliance family, are truly overwhelmed and deeply humbled at the award of this great national honour, the Padma Vibhushan, for the greatest entrepreneur and wealth creator in the history of India, my beloved father, Shri Dhirubhai Ambani.

The true legacy of Dhirubhai lies in the inspiration that he continues to provide to millions of young people, who are dreaming impossible dreams, and setting out to achieve their entrepreneurial ambitions.

I am profoundly grateful to the present government, and in particular, our visionary Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, for this recognition.

In his lifetime, Dhirubhai created and shared more wealth with Indians than anyone before or since.

In this special moment of joy and pride, we at the Reliance Group rededicate ourselves to DHA’s lifelong ideals of nation-building and value creation."

Pipavav Defence delivers Offshore Supply Vessel to ONGC

Mumbai, 20th October, 2013

Pipavav Defence and Offshore Engineering Company Limited (RDEL) has succesfully delivered its third Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV) on 24th September, 2013, to Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).

This vessel is an indigenously built DP1-class OSV with Agni notations and meets global fire fighting (FIFI) class requirements. The vessel can carry cargo like cement, fuel oil, fresh water, brine, etc. and is classed under the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS). Named “LJ Johnson”, the vessel succesfully completed its sea trial, including dynamic positioning, in four days, to the satisfaction of its class requirements and its owner, ONGC. It also has UK Offshore Operators Association (UKOOA) notations and Survivor Recovery Facility, apart from a proven speed of 13 knots.

RDEL is also qualified by ONGC for building a range of offshore assets and is set to benefit from the huge replacement demand expected over the next few years in the offshore oil and gas exploration sector.
